The MagNA Pure cfNA Buffer Set contains 3 components to enhance the recovery of cell-free nucleic acids (cfNA). The Buffer Set is used upstream of the purification process, similiar to other pre- lysis buffers, and is intended to enable the isolation of cfNA in connection with automated or manual nucleic acid purification methods.

The MagNA Pure cfNA Buffer Set is a set of reagents intended for general laboratory use to enable the isolation of cell-free nucleic acids (cfNA) from plasma samples. The buffer is compatible with manual or automated nucleic acid extraction, such as the MagNA Pure 96 and the MagNA Pure 24 Systems. cfNA are targets of interest in applications such as liquid biopsy and non-invasive prenatal testing.

When used with the MagNA Pure 96 System, the MagNA Pure cfNA Buffer Set is used as a supporting external buffer with the MagNA Pure 96 DNA and Viral LV Kit. The MagNA Pure 96 DNA and Viral LV Kit captures a wide range of nucleic acid sizes, and the MagNA Pure cfNA Buffer Set is designed to preferentially capture cfNA fragments, which tend to be smaller in size, in larger input volumes. 
The MagNA Pure 96 System has 4 new cfNA specific protocols for plasma samples, listed below. Two protocols support 2 mL starting plasma volume while the other two support up to 4mL plasma volume. These protocols can be requested here.

The MagNA Pure 24 System has 4 cfNA specific protocols for plasma samples, listed below. Two protocols support 2 mL starting plasma volume while the other two support up to 4mL plasma volume. These protocols come pre-loaded in the MagNA Pure 24 System.
